Step 2: Look Online for a Job!

Most employers post current job leads online. Use the information below to decide the best places on the Internet to look for your next job.

  • If you have limited work experience or are looking for a job in a particular industry, try an employer website, i.e. Comcast, Wal-Mart, FedEx, etc.
  • The quickest way to job search on the web is to use a MetaCrawler like the first two websites below. They will present you with a list of job opportunities based on your criteria from more than 2000 job search sites. You can also limit your job search results to within miles of your home in both.
  • Lastly, you can choose to go to the individual job boards, where you know a company has listed their job openings.

Networking is also a valuable tool for finding or hearing about job leads. If you need help with networking, click here for an article that gives insight on how to network and get your information out in front of employers and others. There are Networking Job Clubs available at both One-Stops, see the SEC calendar tab above for more information.
