WIOA CAREER-IN-FOCUS PROGRAM The ultimate goal of the Career-In-Focus program is to provide a comprehensive array of services that give enrolled clients between the ages of 16 and 24 the tools necessary to make sound decisions about their future and career choice.  These opportunities will also provide exposure to activities that will prepare them to be productive adults and includes the following:

·         Tutoring services for the purpose of attaining a High School Diploma and/or GED

·         Promotion of post-secondary education

·         Leadership activities – community service, learning and peer centered projects

·         Financial literacy

·         Work experience in the following trainee categories:

o   General Office

o   Custodial

o   General Maintenance

o   Food Service

o   Recreation

o   Retail Clerk (Non-Profit Organizations & For-Profit Businesses)

PUBLIC AUTHORITY REGISTRY RECRUITING CAREGIVERS

 

The Solano County In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority is pleased to announce the recruitment of new caregivers to the IHSS Public Authority Registry.

If you would like to start the process to become a Registry Provider, please come to one of the Recruitment Sessions listed below. No appointments are necessary to attend these sessions. Please do not bring children or guests with you to this recruitment session.

The following skills and training are highly desired but not required:

 

  • Able to lift over 50 pounds
  • CNA, Home Health Aide, or Medical Assistant certifications
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Ability to provide paramedical services (wound care, respiratory care, injections, g-tubes, catheters)
  • Ability to take blood pressure and diabetic blood sugar readings
  • Ability to transfer bed-bound individuals
  • Ability to cook for special diets
